Services operate daily to the island from both Piraeus and Rafina ports. The following transport information should assist in getting you to the ports from both Athens airport and the city centre and then to the island using the ferry and hydrofoil services:-

to Athens Piraeus

From Athens International Airport

a taxi should take approximately one hour to reach the ferry port of Piraeus

The metro direct from the airport (change at Monastiraki station)

An Express Line E96 bus (24hour operation) runs to Plateia Karaiskaki, Piraeus from the airport.
The journey time is around 40/50 minutes.


From Athens city centre

The metro direct to Piraeus from Monastiraki station

Bus No 040
Route: Filellinon St., Amalias Ave., Syngrou Ave., Akti Possidonos, Skyllitsi St., Hatjikiriakou St., Akti Xaveriou.
Every 6 minutes.
Operates on 24-hour basis.

Bus No 049
Route: Athinas Street, Sofokleous Street, Pireos St., Sotiros St., Akti Xaveriou.
Every 7 min.
Operates from 05:00 to 24:00.

to Athens Rafina

From Athens International Airport

From Athens International Airport a taxi should take approximately 40 minutes to reach the ferry port of Rafina.

KTEL operates an express bus service from Athens Airport to Rafina. The service operates every 40 minutes on a daily basis, from 06:00 to 21:20 and has only one stop on route at Loutsa. The terminal for this bus route is located at the Arrivals level/ northern gate Number 5 of the airport.
 

From Athens city centre

There are scheduled bus services from Athens city centre. Timetables are (usually, but not always!) available online from the operator KTEL

Ferries, catamarans and hydrofoils

Mykonos is approximately 85 nautical miles from Athens and services depart daily from both Piraeus and Rafina with weekly and bi weekly services from other islands. Timetables for all services are available from Greek Island Ferries (incorporates the major Greek ferry lines) or GTP Net. Hydrofoil information is available from Hellas Flying Dolphins.

The ferries arrive at Chora and from the harbour side it is a 5 minute walk to the town centre where taxis can be found in the small 'Taxi Square'.
