From Athens Piraeus

From Athens International Airport a taxi or the metro should take approximately one hour to reach the ferry port of Piraeus.  An Express Line E96 bus (24hour operation) runs to Plateia Karaiskaki, Piraeus from the airport.

 
The journey time is around 40/50 minutes. Bus timetables are available online for the return journey to Athens and the airport.

From Athens Rafina

From Athens International Airport a taxi should take approximately 40 minutes to reach the ferry port of Rafina. 

KTEL operates an express bus service from Athens Airport to Rafina. The service operates every 40 minutes on a daily basis, from 06:00 to 21:20 and has only one stop on route at Loutsa. The terminal for this bus route is located at the Arrivals level/ northern gate Number 5 of the airport.

There are scheduled bus services from Athens city centre and the operator KTEL provides the timetables online.

Ferries, Catamarans and hydrofoils

Santorini is 94 nautical miles from Athens and services depart daily from both Piraeus and Rafina with weekly and bi weekly services from other islands. Timetables for all services are available from  Greek Island Ferries (incorporates the major Greek ferry lines) or GTP Net. Hydrofoil information is available from Hellas Flying Dolphins.

Arriving

Ferries arrive at the port of Ormos Athinios and local ferries plus cruise ships at the ports of Skala Firas and Ia.
Buses connect Ormos Athinios with the island's capital Thira and also with the beaches at Perissa and Kamari. At Skala Firas you can climb up the 580 steps to Thira, use the cable car or go up by mule.
